Würzburger Improtheaterfestival e.V.

Welcome to the website of the Würzburger Improtheaterfestival e.V.!
Our association is committed to the art form of improvised theatre in Würzburg.

Besides shows with international guests we offer workshops to improve in this form of theatre.

The core and annual highlight is our international festival in October. But also during the year various improv-projects take place, such as the MaestroTM, that offers not only the stage to guests and Würzburg players but also a exciting evening for the audience.

Present your own format at the festival!

Interested in bringing a show format to the 17th Würzburger Improtheaterfestival? Applications are open from now on until April 28th!

This year we again want to give you the possibility to present your ideas and show formats at the festival. We’re excited about your stage-perfect submissions! The ones that will finally perform at the festival we offer a guaranteed spot in a festival workshop of your choice and free ticket to a show. And, of course, the chance to present your work to our Würzburg audience!

Maestro™

A true classic of improvised theatre returns to Würzburg: The Maestro. We are delighted to announce that we will put on no less than three Maestro shows leading up to our grand festival in October: a spring edition, a summer edition, and a fall one! Be there to see the improvisers rock the stage - your favorite players from Würzburg as well as guests from all over Germany and the world.

Venue Switch!

Attention, if you want to see the show "The Ferocious Four"! This show on Friday, 27th of October, will not take place at the Kulturbühne but in the theater ensemble!
